Don’t be afraid to fall. The worst that can happen is that you land on the floor. It might hurt, but you can get back up. You have to get back up.
Send the message. Get your feelings off your chest. Talk to a customer service representative. Do something that terrifies you, because in the moments that you fall, you’re free.
I used to be scared of falling, even terrified. It took me too long to realize that being afraid takes so much away from life. I convinced myself by saying “YOLO,” or “Do it for the plot.” I’d say them and laugh, but they’re so true.
Watching everyone cliff jump and not doing it? Nope. I have to make everything with what I’ve got. Take every opportunity. If I don’t, the "shoulda coulda wouldas" begin to leave my mouth. I’ve been doing it for too long.
In Bermuda, where the roaches reside, I used to cry and run (not as a child, but a few months ago) when I saw one. Now I grab a shoe and chase, or spray and run. Being able to control fear rather than letting it control you is the most eye-opening experience.
I realized how much I missed when fear guided me, because it holds two blinders that lead down a very narrow path of “maybe next time” and a tightness in my chest because so many words are trying to break free.
When you take over fear and you let yourself fall, having no control of anything around you, and being comfortable with being vulnerable, nothing can stop you.
So true!!! Don’t be afraid to fall/fail. Life is way too short!!
